Volleyball Recap: Eugene Starts off Right with Win over Otterville

Eugene took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past Otterville 3-0. Eugene hasn't had any issues with Otterville recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

While Eugene might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Otterville scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 26-24.

Lydia Hale paced Eugene's offense, picking up seven kills. Hale got some help from Kebrina Hugen and her ten assists. Hale also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubree Lowry, racking up six apiece.

Otterville's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1.

Eugene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Boonville on the 2nd. As for Otterville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Prairie Home on the 29th.
