Baseball Recap: Altha Starts off Right with Win over Crossroad Academy

Altha had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 19-3 margin over the Crossroad Academy Scorpions. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Scorpions, too.

Aidan Grover was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Altha let Will O'Bryan and Tripp Hill run wild. O'Bryan scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Hill scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Hill, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Altha wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 24-0 loss against Maclay on the 11th. As for Crossroad Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-2 defeat against FAMU DRS on the 18th.
