The Del Norte Nighthawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Birmingham Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Del Norte comes in on three and Birmingham on eight.
With a playoff game on the line, Del Norte rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took down the Vikings 31-15. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Del Norte's nine-point performance the match before.
Jack Schneider looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 223 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Ryan Remigio, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, Birmingham can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They really took it to Garfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-7 win on the road. Birmingham's victory was all the more impressive since Garfield was averaging only 14 points allowed on the season.
Birmingham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dredon Fowles out in front who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnell Hewitt, who rushed for 174 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 11-2.
