Christ Chapel Academy lost against the Seton Conquistadors back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Christ Chapel Academy suffered a tough 59-36 defeat at the hands of Seton. Christ Chapel Academy has not had much luck with Seton recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Christ Chapel Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zaria Gaskins. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Gaskins scored a full 63.9% of Christ Chapel Academy's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Maya Brantley, who scored seven points.
Christ Chapel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Seton, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Christ Chapel Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Trinity at Meadow View at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Trinity at Meadow View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Christ Chapel Academy is ranked 97th). Seton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday.
