Whitehall hasn't had much luck against Eleva-Strum recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Whitehall has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Whitehall's last matchup with Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Vikings came up short against the Lancers, falling 14-3.
Regan Clatt spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and 11 unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Taylor Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Eleva-Strum narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Pepin/Alma 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
Eleva-Strum also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ruby Bartholomew gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 19 Ks. Bartholomew has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Maddea Brown was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Norby, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Eleva-Strum now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Whitehall, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Whitehall might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Eleva-Strum in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
