On Friday Newton will take on Knoxville at 7:30 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
We expected Newton to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Pella last Friday, and they did. Newton ended up on the wrong side of a painful 17-49 walloping at Pella's hands.
Meanwhile, if Knoxville were riding high off their 47-12 takedown of South Tama County two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Knoxville took a serious blow against Oskaloosa, falling 6-42. Knoxville's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the match before.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
