On Friday, Gaffney was fully in charge, breezing past Lexington 47-14 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-8.
Riley Staton looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 222 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Shane Davidson, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Gaffney is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Lexington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Gaffney will face off against Clover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clover is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
