After flying high against the Immaculate Conception Academy Cristeros last Tuesday, the Clark Fork Wampus Cats came back down to earth. Clark Fork had to suffer through a rough 80-53 loss at the hands of Lakeside. While losing is never fun, Clark Fork can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Lakeside is ranked 34th).
Lakeside found their leader in underclassman Tyson Charley, who scored 27 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Charley is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brutis Sijohn was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.
Clark Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lakeside, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Clark Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-31 victory vs. Kootenai on the 10th. Lakeside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wallace at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Lakeside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully Wallace likes a good challenge.
