The Lake Placid Dragons had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by Frostproof on the road to the tune of 48-6. Given Lake Placid's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Frostproof is ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Antranique Felton, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taraje Walker, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Lake Placid's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Frostproof, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Placid will take on Moore Haven at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frostproof, they will be playing at home against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lakeland Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
