Baseball Recap: Maplewood Has No Trouble Against Windham

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maplewood had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Windham Bombers. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabe Erwin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Erwin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Coleton Logan, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Maplewood and bumps their season record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Windham, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

As of now, neither Maplewood nor the Bombers have any future games scheduled.
