NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) recap Oct. 3, 2012
Word of God Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week by beating Rocky Mount Academy, 54-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Word of God Christian Academy took down the Eagles 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jason Fields threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 93 yards in the win.
Andrew Davenport and Nick Mcintosh gave Arendell Parrott Academy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Davenport threw for 99 yards and three touchdowns, while Mcintosh ran for 143 yards. Davenport also contributed to the rushing game with 111 yards on the ground.
Casty St. Louis was the best wideout in the league this week as Kevin D Washington's team defeated Rocky Mount Academy. St. Louis racked up two receptions for 100 yards. Diantre James helped Word of God Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
The Patriots' Davenport and Nate Staskelunas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davenport has thrown for 749 yards this season, while Staskelunas, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 24 catches for 542 yards. Hobgood Academy's G Mullins leads the league in rushing yards with 1417.
The marquee game in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Arendell Parrott Academy and the Rams. Matt Beaman's team comes into the matchup ranked sixth in the state, while Word of God Christian Academy ranks first.
Davenport of the the Patriots is only 89 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Davenport has rushed for 911 yards on 89 carries so far this year.
Lawrence Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 88 points on Northeast Academy.
