On Friday, The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans faced the Regis Jesuit Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fountain-Fort Carson was beaten by Regis Jesuit 45-7. It was the first time this season that Fountain-Fort Carson let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Fountain-Fort Carson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mathias Price. Despite the final result, he rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Price's longest rush was for an incredible 96 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Regis Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Thermidor, who rushed for 123 yards on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Lindell, who threw for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Fountain-Fort Carson's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Regis Jesuit, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Fountain-Fort Carson will head out on the road to face off against Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 378 points over their last seven contests. Regis Jesuit will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grandview at 6:30 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Grandview is ranked 16th, while Regis Jesuit is ranked seventh).
