After flying high against Flathead last Thursday, Big Sky came back down to earth. The Big Sky Eagles took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Butte Bulldogs on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Big Sky wouldn't let Butte keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force five fumbles. Cormack Batt led the group effort, picking up two of those forced fumbles all by himself. Cal Marceau is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Karson Pumnea went supernova for Butte, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Pumnea has posted since back in September of 2023.
The loss snapped Big Sky's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record. As for Butte, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Sky will take on Sentinel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Big Sky's defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so Sentinel's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Butte, they will challenge Flathead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Butte is facing Flathead at the right time seeing as Flathead is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
