The Rocky Mount Gryphons pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-68 to Northern Nash. Even though they lost, Rocky Mount's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Gryphons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emanauel Battle, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyquae Pittman, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Rocky Mount has fallen quite a ways from their 21-4 record last season and are now at 3-9. As for Northern Nash, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Rocky Mount won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Roanoke Rapids will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Northern Nash will take on D.H. Conley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
