Basketball Recap: Delmarva Christian Piles Up the Points Against Salisbury Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delmarva Christian). They claimed a resounding 86-22 win over Salisbury Christian. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 137th in Delaware, while Salisbury Christian are ranked 291st in Maryland), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Delmarva Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darius Liles out in front who posted 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Liles is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Malachi Light was another key player, putting up 15 points and six steals.

Delmarva Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Salisbury Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delmarva Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eastern Shore HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Delmarva Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Salisbury Christian, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Delaware Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
