The Olympia Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Rogers Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Olympia will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Spanaway Lake on Monday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Sentinels. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Sentinels: they've now won four in a row.
Sydney Potvin was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ashlynn Carey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Olympia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Rogers came out on top against South Kitsap on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 10-1 victory.
Emma Mitchell (2028) made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Adair (2026), who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Rossmeier (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Olympia's record now sits at 5-8. As for Rogers, their record is now 11-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Olympia hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Rogers struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Olympia might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Rogers in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
