Ballston Spa is a perfect 4-0 against Niskayuna since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Ballston Spa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Wellsville, who was ranked 12th at the time (Ballston Spa was ranked 20th). The Scotties fell just short of the Lions by a score of 8-7 on Sunday. The Scotties have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ballston Spa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Livia Wiltsie, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Wiltsie has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another was Katelyn Weatherwax, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Niskayuna's offense. They lost 7-0 to Shenendehowa on Monday. The Silver Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Niskayuna now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Ballston Spa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Niskayuna's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ballston Spa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Niskayuna, though, as they've only averaged .291. Will they be able to contain Ballston Spa's hitters?

Ballston Spa took their win against Niskayuna when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scotties since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
