Even though the College Prep of America Thunder have not done well against the Universal Stars recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. College Prep of America slipped by the Stars 35-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for College Prep of America.
College Prep of America can attribute much of their success to Fatima Iqbal, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Iqbal has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Zainab Nazeer was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six steals.
College Prep of America's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Universal, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
College Prep of America will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Universal's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Morgan Park Academy's defense has only allowed 27.7 points per game this season, so the Stars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
