Softball Recap: Newington Wins Going Away Against Hall

Newington came out on top against Hall on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run third inning. The Nor'easters put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 20-1 win. The Nor'easters haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Abigail Greaves made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Greaves was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kiley Connors was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Carmela Balducci, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Newington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Newington's record is now 3-6. As for Hall, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newington will venture away from home to square off against Maloney at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Nor'easters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Hall, they will head out on the road to face off against Bristol Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
