Patrick Reynolds put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Kaden Christian was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.
Meanwhile, Greensboro Day School earned a 7-3 victory over Cornerstone Charter on Friday.
The team relied heavily on Trevor Waters, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cooper Braxton, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Greensboro Day School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.
Greensboro Day School's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Calvary Day School, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Calvary Day School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greensboro Day School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Calvary Day School couldn't quite finish off Greensboro Day School in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Calvary Day School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
