Mt. Carmel won the last time they faced Lawrenceville and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Aces were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Golden Aces, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lyla Keepes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Keepes wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evie Sellers, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Mt. Carmel's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Lawrenceville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Mt. Carmel will venture away from home to face off against Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Golden Aces surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lawrenceville, they will host Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
