Lafayette Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Shaylee Barrett, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for Barrett. Miliana Herring was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Despite the loss, Clinton Prairie still got an impressive performance from Hyleigh Wilson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Lafayette Jefferson's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7. As for Clinton Prairie, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-8 record last season and are now at 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Jefferson is on the road again on Saturday and play against Harrison at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. Harrison is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Clinton Prairie, they will head out on the road to face off against Western at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Western's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Clinton Prairie has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
