If Mize was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Raleigh last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mize took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mize saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Reyes, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Reyes' first of the season.

Mize's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. Jefferson Davis County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Mize has already played their next match, a 5-3 defeat against Puckett on the 21st. As for Jefferson Davis County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against Forrest County Agricultural on the 20th.
