The Venture Academy Mustangs entered their tilt with the Lathrop Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Venture Academy breezed by Lathrop at home to the tune of 91-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Venture Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcos Rosales out in front who scored 36 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Lowe, who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bobby Cotton, who scored 14 points. Reniel Crisostomo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Venture Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lathrop, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venture Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mountain House at 7:15 p.m. on December 11th. As for Lathrop, they will head out on the road to face off against Linden at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
