The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-27.
Douglass got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Treadwell out in front who scored 24 points along with 3 steals. The game was Treadwell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Mickell, who scored 16 points along with 8 assists and 3 steals.
When it comes to explaining why Southwest Atlanta Christian lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Mamour Mbow. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Talyn Harris was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Douglass' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglass will take on Norcross at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Norcross has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Cross Keys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
