Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Smiths Station Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 67-38 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Smiths Station's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Tabari Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Auburn, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Franklin, who scored six points along with 11 assists and five rebounds.
Smiths Station's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Auburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.
Smiths Station does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Auburn will stay at home for another game and welcome the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 games.
