Kam Mcknight was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 3 assists for North Surry. Mcknight hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. Fisher Leftwich was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven assists and three steals.
West Wilkes' defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for North Surry, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Wilkes will face off against Wilkes Central at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. West Wilkes is facing Wilkes Central at the right time seeing as Wilkes Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Surry, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mount Airy at 7:45 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully North Surry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
