The Interlachen Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interlachen is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Interlachen scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 74-36 victory over Calvary Christian Academy. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Interlachen had established a 29 point advantage.
Interlachen found their leader in underclassman Kaleb Mckinnon, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mckinnon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. Their rough 70-48 defeat to The Villages Charter might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Trinity Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Buffalo are ranked 90th).
Interlachen has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for Trinity Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Interlachen strolled past the Celtics in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 78-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Interlachen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
