Chandler extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 4-1. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 49-10 victory over the O'Connor Eagles. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Wolves this season.

Will Mencl produced another solid effort throwing for 438 yards and six touchdowns while completing 71.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. Chandler's leading receiver Skyler Ormita was Mencl's top target yet again, picking up 192 receiving yards and three scores.
Chandler didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited O'Connor to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Jayden Arnold, Jacob Najor, Brayden Nesbitt, and Kamari Crawford, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Mencl's standout performance, it's clear O'Connor's secondary just wasn't on the same level.
Chandler's defense didn't let Carson Craig, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Arnold refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in O'Connor's side was Arnold, who picked up 1.5 sacks, made four total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
As for O'Connor, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Chandler is ranked fifth).
When it comes to explaining why O'Connor lost, don't look at Jeremy Adeyanju. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Adeyanju's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Chandler will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for O'Connor, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-7 loss against Centennial on the 3rd.
