The St. Elizabeth Vikings and the Wilmington Charter Force squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the St. Elizabeth Vikings had to settle for second. St. Elizabeth fell just short of Wilmington Charter by a score of 10-8. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, St. Elizabeth couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cole Andrews threw for 35 yards on four of 11 attempts. On the ground, Jihad Brown rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilmington Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady harach, who gained 178 total yards. Wilmington Charter also got a significant boost from John Foley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wilmington Charter's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Bobby Cardone and his two sacks.
St. Elizabeth now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Wilmington Charter, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
St. Elizabeth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wilmington Charter will head out on the road to face off against Polytech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Polytech is on a six-game streak of home wins, Wilmington Charter a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
