It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lathrop Spartans can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 46-18 loss at the hands of Casa Roble. Lathrop was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julio Garcia, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Casa Roble got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Campbell out in front who threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Campbell has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Casa Roble also got help from Elijah Huddle who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.
Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Casa Roble, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Casa Roble will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hilmar at 7:00 p.m. Hilmar will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
