Jerome will challenge Mountain Home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Jerome's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Mountain Home has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Jerome is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 16-11 victory over Minico on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Emma Allen, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base. Sawyer Gararad was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.
Jerome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Mountain Home came up short against Twin Falls on Monday, falling 17-7.
Orie Rau was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Cotton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Jerome is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Mountain Home, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jerome has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Mountain Home struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jerome took their victory against Mountain Home when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-9 score. Does Jerome have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain Home turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
