The Riverview Sarasota Rams will take on the North Port Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Port will be up against a hot Riverview Sarasota squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Rams never let Southeast get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Rams not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th (when they won 17-2).
Allison Cole made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Trandem, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sierra Lipton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Riverview Sarasota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and North Port had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against Lehigh on Monday as they made off with a 20-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won four in a row.
Hailey Perez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Allison Timmons was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Riverview Sarasota's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for North Port, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Riverview Sarasota skirted past North Port 3-1 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
