It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lubbock T Titans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Texas Wind 68-67. The win was just what Lubbock T needed coming off of a 73-28 defeat in their prior contest.
Lubbock T's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korbin Schmidt, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Isaac Kelly also helped out with an impressive 101 receiving yards.
Texas Wind's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Johnny Salmans, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Salmans was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Thomas Guess was another major influence, as he rushed for 80 yards and ran in a TD.
Lubbock T's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Texas Wind, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Lubbock T will take on Fort Worth THESA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. Texas Wind does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
