Baseball Recap: Manchester Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Manchester Academy entered their tilt with Indianola Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Indianola Academy Colonels as they made off with a 17-4 victory. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Colonels two weeks ago, they had to take a 12-9 loss.

Brody Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Grant Nixon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adam Edger, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Manchester Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Manchester Academy's record is now 7-3. As for Indianola Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester Academy will head out to take on Humphreys Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Indianola Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Delta at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
