This season hasn't been kind to the Fairwinds Christian Knights, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a 29-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Baptist School on Thursday. Fairwinds Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 17 to 5 on offense.
Fairwinds Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabbie Moore, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Among those leading the charge was Brenna Binkley, who scored 11 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Nevina Jenkins HS, who scored a points along with 12 rebounds and seven steals.
Fairwinds Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 10-5 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Faith Baptist School, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.
Fairwinds Christian will face off against Greenwood Mennonite at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Faith Baptist School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chestertown Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 12th.
