Basketball Game Preview: Broken Arrow Tigers vs. Jenks Trojans

The Broken Arrow Tigers will challenge the Jenks Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Broken Arrow will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Broken Arrow is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Edmond North, who was ranked 12th at the time (Broken Arrow was ranked sixth). Broken Arrow snuck past Edmond North with a 52-47 win on Tuesday.

McKenzie Mathurin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-9 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. Her evening made it 20 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taryn Jacobs, who posted four points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Broken Arrow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Jenks hadn't done well against Charles Page recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jenks came out on top against Charles Page by a score of 63-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Broken Arrow has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Jenks, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Broken Arrow beat Jenks 44-35 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Broken Arrow repeat their success, or does Jenks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
