The Boling Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Palacios Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Boling knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Palacios likes a good challenge.
If Boling beats Palacios with 12 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Boling beat Brazosport Christian on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brayden Macek and Morgan Mahalitc were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Macek pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Mahalitc pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Macek scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Mahalitc scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parks Macek, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Macek is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Randy Ruiz, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Palacios entered their tilt with Wharton on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tigers.
Ben Jiminez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Eric Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Palacios now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Boling, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Boling has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Palacios struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Boling suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Palacios when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Boling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
