The Boonsboro Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by North Hagerstown at home to the tune of 42-13. Considering Boonsboro has won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Boonsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chad Wyand led the charge by rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Parker Debaugh, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
North Hagerstown's loss came despite strong showings from Luke Bragunier and Ryder Johnston. Bragunier rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Johnston posted 51 receiving yards and and a score through the air. Bragunier was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Boonsboro's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for North Hagerstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boonsboro will take on Smithsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithsburg is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for North Hagerstown, they will be playing at home against South Hagerstown on Friday.
