Softball Recap: Fenton Wins Going Away Against Lake Fenton

After only two runs in their last match, Fenton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lake Fenton on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-4 win. Considering the Tigers have won 24 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lillian Tillier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taryn Craven was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight contests. Marlee Topij was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Fenton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 26-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Fenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 29-6.

Fenton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Fenton, they will be playing at home against Williamston at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
