Even though the Smyrna Bulldogs scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Lebanon Blue Devils still came out on top. Lebanon took their game against Smyrna 68-55.
Despite the defeat, Smyrna had strong showings from Ze'keice Mccarver, who scored 24 points along with three steals, and Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 13 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccarver has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleil Lyons, who scored four points along with three steals.
Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Smyrna, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon will square off against Wilson Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Smyrna, Smyrna and LaVergne will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. LaVergne presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Smyrna in Tennessee (LaVergne is ranked 22nd, while Smyrna is ranked 252nd).
