Softball Recap: Olympic Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Olympic never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Bainbridge Spartans as they made off with a 12-0 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Brenda Morrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Haas, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Beya Richmond, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Olympic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Olympic pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bainbridge, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Olympic is set to face off against their familiar foe North Kitsap at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.6, the Vikings 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bainbridge will square off against rival Port Angeles at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
