Eastside Early College is 0-6 against Manor New Tech since September of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will head out to take on Manor New Tech at 7:30 p.m. Eastside Early College will be strutting in after a win while Manor New Tech will be coming in after a defeat.
Eastside Early College will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Travis, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Panthers strolled past the Rebels with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 26-12. Those 26 points were actually the fewest the Panthers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Khrisshawn Bryant was his usual excellent self, rushing for 198 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making three total tackles. Jaylan Cathey also helped out as he racked up 109 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eastside Early College was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 237 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Eastside Early College didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Khristo Bryant and Moises Garcia. Boaz Nkamba was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Manor New Tech came up short against Taylor on Friday, falling 50-26.
Eastside Early College's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Manor New Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Things could have been worse for Eastside Early College, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-18 loss to Manor New Tech in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
