If the Frontier Cougars were feeling good off their 60-40 takedown of the Beallsville Blue Devils on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Frontier fell 65-53 to Monroe Central on Thursday. Frontier was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Monroe Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Frontier lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grace Knowlton, who scored 24 points. The game was Knowlton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Haught, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Frontier has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Monroe Central, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Frontier will head out on the road to face off against Buckeye Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe Central, they will be playing at home against Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Caldwell will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
