River Valley proved they can win big  last Wednesday (they won by 16) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Tonopah Valley Phoenix  4-2. The  victory continues a trend for the Dust Devils in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won six in a row.
 Mickey Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Smith was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Mickey Gonzalez was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
