On Friday Pittsfield take on East Longmeadow at Berkshire CC at 7:00 PM. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
Pittsfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 30-8 margin over Frontier Regional. Pittsfield were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, East Longmeadow took care of business in their home opener. Everything went their way against South Hadley last Friday as they made off with a 23-0 victory.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. With both East Longmeadow and Pittsfield swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
