The Mansfield Senior Tygers will head out to challenge the Rogers Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Senior will be strutting in after a victory while Rogers will be coming in after a defeat.
Mansfield Senior's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Crestline. The victory continues a trend for the Tygers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Sean Tanner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Joshua Malone was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Page, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Rogers came up short against Lima Senior on Wednesday, falling 12-2. The Rams have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Davenport, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Davenport has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Ethan Hendrick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mansfield Senior, their record is now 6-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mansfield Senior has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rogers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Mansfield Senior's way against Rogers when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Mansfield Senior made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tygers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
