Cleveland Hill hasn't had much luck against East Aurora recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Golden Eagles will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cleveland Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Lackawanna 16-1 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Andrew Majchrzak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Majchrzak was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Cleveland Hill: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Colin Honan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cleveland Hill's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aiden Slater, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Cleveland Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, East Aurora had just enough and edged out Eden 7-6 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.
East Aurora got a big performance out of Bradley Siefert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Siefert a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Catenzaro, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
East Aurora pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Cleveland Hill, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-7.
