Windber is a perfect 4-0 against Juniata Valley since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ramblers will take on the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, Windber came up short against Northern Bedford County and fell 28-21.
Windber's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ike Serenko, who gained 206 total yards and two touchdowns, and Cole Mash, who rushed for 145 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Juniata Valley humbled Southern Huntingdon County with a 35-6 victory. The Hornets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Windber better keep an eye on Andrew Clark. He was instrumental in Juniata Valley's win, rushing for 123 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries. Clark didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made two total tackles, and defended one pass.
Juniata Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.
Juniata Valley's defense made their presence known, laying out Drew Flood three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Logan Harpster, Gavin Smith, and Trenton Norris, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Juniata Valley pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.3 points over those games. As for Windber, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Windber has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 216.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Juniata Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 188.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Windber against Juniata Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 victory. In that contest, the Ramblers amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
