Meanwhile, May River can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against St. Andrew's as May River made off with a 53-31 win. Given May River's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in South Carolina, while St. Andrew's is ranked 450th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colleton County's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for May River, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Colleton County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against May River when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was May River's Casey Laing, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
